The aim for the programme is to contribute to the development of the Higher Education leadership in India and the UK by forming working partnerships between HE leaders. It involves Vice Chancellors and senior staff from UK and Indian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), to develop and disseminate good practices in HE management and leadership. An MOU for the programme has been signed between MHRD, Government of India & British High Commission as part of the UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI).
University Grants Commission (UGC) on behalf of Indian universities, supported by MHRD is the Indian implementing agency and Leadership Foundation for Higher Education (LFHE) on behalf of UK universities, supported by HEFCE is the UK implementing agency for the programme. UKIERI will be responsible for the overall management of the programme.
The programme has garnered positive response from the first set of 28 participants from India and the UK HEIs. They have entered into long term collaborative partnerships as a result of the programme. Two workshops have been completed successfully under the programme with participation from 28 senior leaders from UK & Indian HEIs. Please click here to download a detailed report on the programme.
